The Coupe Collage Collective
of Belgium are celebrating World Collage Day on May 9, 2026
with a display of collaged postcards at the Municipal Academy of Waregem.
Each postcard needed to include a yellow disc or part thereof.
The collages on some of the postcards are from my own sketchbook and many are from a
medieval miniature titled "Allegory of the Virtues, the Liberal Arts, and the Vices" attributed to the
Italian illuminator Niccolò da Bologna (aka Niccolò di Giacomo di Nascimbene)
probably 14th century, currently held in Milan.
I was inspired to be part of this. The materials were collected by chance;

I was inspired to be part of this. The materials were collected by chance;
- A found dust jacket depicting women in trades,
- the shiny blue card, glue and scissors from the Two Dollar shop in Wellington, New Zealand.
- The sparkly indigo tissue paper gifted from the gift shop in Wellington, New Zealand.
- The yellow circles cut out from old Darwin paintings.
- Later, at the tip shop on Magnetic island, I was guided to a tiny old poetry book.
- Words from Carmel’s story seemed to fit well with the pictures I had collaged.
